Dial In Your Package

May 11, 2021 by RILAWNS Leave a Comment

In a service industry like landscaping and outdoor maintenance, customization and customer service are the name of the game. (I guess you would say they are two names of the game…?) Anyway, our business model works for many Rhode Island households who need help with their lawns and gardens during the summer months.

Let’s face it – making sure that your property is in top condition, every day, takes quite a bit of work! We can help. Our programs are set up to truly support the property owner. We don’t just come out and mulch and vanish. We set out to provide a partnership that you can feel good about, in the heat of July and August, and all year.

What You Get

What you get with all of our packages is a free consultation, and some other key tools to help you to keep your property in top condition.

First of all, our customers get a free soil test to see what their land is composed of. This makes a difference, because it affects your planting processes and how you decide to deal with various parts and patches of your yard or outdoor space.

Our customers also get free monthly inspections, which is important in monitoring how plants are doing, what’s taking root, and how an initial plan is coming together. Then there’s also free fall cleanup, which helps you to button down your yard and get it ready for winter. That’s also a real value, so that when you are waiting out the February doldrums, at least you have your yard sorted.

Essential and Premium Packages

In addition, those who want more from a landscaping service get a number of hours of gardening expertise with the Essentials kit. The Premium package adds our organic fertilizer program to enrich your soil, and the installation of mums and other annuals.

All of this combines to create an excellent visual impression for your property in a sustainable way. It takes the stress and hassle out of dealing with your exterior spaces of your property as the seasons fly by. We know that many busy families don’t have time to do it all themselves, and that’s normal, that’s okay. We’re here to fill in the gaps and help deliver a truly comprehensive outdoor landscaping experience. Take a look at the site and contact us with any questions about how we can keep your property looking elegant and tidy. It’s what we do!

SWEATER WEATHER!

October 28, 2020 by service@rilawncare.com Leave a Comment

Fall is here and so is sweater weather! Time to sit by the fire in our most comfy clothes and relax after a very hot and dry summer. Are you excited for the season or are you just dreading winter and getting your yard prepared? Don’t stress! Let us take care of it for you. Whether you need your gutters cleaned, your sprinkler system winterized or a fall cleanup, 855-RILAWNS does it all. Want to rake those leaves but you have nowhere to put them? We offer a ‘you rake ‘em, we take ‘em’ service that might be for you. If you put your leaves within ten feet of the curb, we will vacuum and haul them away for you. The leaves are then brought to Earthcare Organic Farm in Charlestown where they are composted and resold as organic material. So much better for our environment than putting in bags for the garbage!

The days are certainly getting shorter! Mowing services continue through the second week of this month and then we’re beginning fall cleanups. If you had a fall cleanup with us last year you are on our list for this year! If you’d like to add gutter cleaning or even a garden clean out, give us a call. We’ve been very fortunate this year to hire some very skilled gardeners that can trim back any of your plants that require pruning for maximum health and blooms next spring.

Our hardscaping teams were busy this year with deck and driveway remodels. Whether you need some boards replaced on your deck or would like a stone edge on your drive, we have the crews that can handle your needs. Now is the time to get it done!

Driveway Remodel

Don’t forget to winterize your lawn equipment! How many times have you put your mower away without draining the gas only to find it won’t start the following spring? Popular Mechanics has a great article on the steps for preparing your mower for winter storage. Want someone to do it for you? We have a mechanic who will pick up, service your equipment, and return it back to you. Don’t want to be bothered mowing next year? Now is the perfect time to get an estimate for service in 2021.

Let us take the stress out of fall so you can sit back and relax!

October is For Organizing!

September 29, 2020 by service@rilawncare.com Leave a Comment

Fall is here and I don’t know about you but I’d like a few things organized before it gets too cold (and I get too lazy). I know so many of us are working from home these days so a bit of decluttering might make the day go by a bit easier.

  • Get rid of clothes you no longer wear or need.  This seems like an obvious one but how many of us have a closet full of things we haven’t worn in years? If an item is damaged or stained, use it as a cleaning rag. If there’s still life in it, donate! Someone else will love it just as much as you once did.
  • Once you’ve whittled down your wardrobe, it’s time to organize that closet. Put like clothes together by season with your fall/winter clothes front and center. If you don’t have a shoe rack, move your sandals and lightweight shoes to the back and put your boots and the like where you can easily reach them (or get a little shoe rack near the front door).
  • Working from home? Don’t forget to organize your work space. Have everything you need handy so you don’t have to search high and low for paper and a pen. Is your chair comfortable? Is your laptop at a comfortable level? Invest now on something both stylish and functional to make your days go smoother.
  • Check out your wood stove or fireplace. Empty any leftover ash and clean the exteriors with a commercial grade cleaner meant specifically for your stove. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, call a chimney sweep to perform maintenance (yes, there are still chimney sweeps!). Order firewood now!

  • Your car should be checked out now. Make sure you have your vehicle winterized by a professional. How’s the battery? Do you need snow tires? When was the last time you had the system flushed? Make an appointment with your mechanic now. Have you neglected the interior over the summer? Time to get rid of any garbage, vacuum and clean it (or better yet, take it to be professionally detailed!). Support your small businesses now.
  • Get your rakes and blowers ready! The leaves will be falling soon so you’ll want to have everything ready to go if you’re going to do your own fall cleanup. Rather not deal with it yourself? Let our professional crews take care of it for you! This service is a great way to prepare your lawn and property for the winter season.

WHAT’S ‘SUP, SEPTEMBER?

August 31, 2020 by service@rilawncare.com Leave a Comment

Back with another blog post! Hoping you and yours are doing well during these very strange days. We’re going to take this time to fill you in on our summer and what the fabulous crews at 855-RILAWNS have been up to for the last couple months.

The mow crews continue to crush it each and every day, despite the many heat waves we have had here in Southern New England. We know we are lucky to have such dependable men working for us and would like to give a shout out to them all!

The gardening crews have been plugging away each and every day, weeding, planting and trimming at so many of your beautiful properties. The gardening promo that we ran was such a hit we extended it into August and so many new gardening customers were amazed by what the crews could do in just a few hours!

BEFORE
AFTER

Did you know we do deck repairs? Along with power-washing, 855-RILAWNS can repair or replace existing decking and paint it to look new. Would you like to plant some bushes or perennials around your deck? We have gardeners with great ideas to make your property look the best it can be (you’d be surprised what a little mulch and a few plants can do!)

NEW BOARDS, NEW LIGHTS AND NEW PAINT JOB!

The cooler nights mean it’s time to seed and aerate your lawn. We often forget about doing anything to the grass until spring but this really is the absolute best time to seed. If you want to have the healthiest lawn, 855-RILAWNS is the company to call. All the details of our fertilizing program may be found here.

How are your veggie gardens holding up? It certainly has been a tough year with the heat and a water ban in much of the area. When it’s time to clean up the garden, we have some previous blog posts that might help you. Would you rather have someone come in and clear it out for you? Our gardeners can make fast work of it. If you’re looking for ideas for new raised beds for next year, reach out! We would be happy to set them up for you.

Fall is only a few weeks away. Enjoy the last days of summer!

HEALTHY FUN IN THE SUMMER SUN

May 30, 2020 by service@rilawncare.com Leave a Comment

With a very strange spring behind us (almost!) we head into the summer and Phase 2 of the Governor’s plan to reopen the state. The beaches will be open as of June 1st with some restrictions in place. It almost seems like the carefree days of summer are a thing of the past but we can do this and still have fun.

Are you looking for some suggestions for things to do this year?

  • How about a hike? There are plenty of places to get out and enjoy the weather and we are so lucky here in the Ocean State to be able to access them so easily. Here in South County there are trails both on the coast as well as inland. When was the last time you walked the South County Bike Path? There is a new addition that leads right to the University of Rhode Island. Make a day of it! Pack a backpack with a picnic, grab the kids and get out there! How about Rome Point? It’s a great place to explore, relax and maybe see a seal. Go early or on a weekday.
  • Take an online exercise class! Gyms are opening (slowly) but if you prefer working out at home, there are dozens of free classes available. Love the idea of a Peloton bike but don’t have the $$$ for it? There’s an app for that. You can access all kinds of classes and use your own exercise bike, treadmill, yoga mat, or weights.  We’ve all been so stressed with Covid-19. How about a yoga class? Youtube has dozens of free classes for every level. Just want to march in place in your living room? Leslie Sansone has her own Youtube channel with classes for every member of the family.
  • Adopt a pet. Have you ever thought “I want a pet, but I don’t have the time to housetrain one right now”? So many of us are working from home, with no definite return to office date that this might be the perfect time to go to your local shelter and find a new friend.
  • Have a spa day at home. Order some bath salts, some candles and a face mask and spend some time relaxing in your own place! You’re worth it. If you have little ones, you might want to wait till they’re asleep so you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Are your little ones not-so-little anymore? Have them join you! Soak your nails and give yourselves a mani-pedi. Self care is the best care!
  • Garden. Put on your gloves, get out and pull some weeds and plant some flowers or veggies. Need some suggestions for plants or want some help building some raised beds? Call us! We have crews that can get you on your way to having a beautiful, bountiful garden.

Now is the time to get out and enjoy the weather with the ones we love. This spring was challenging for all of us so have a great month and relax!
